Tony La Russa Career Wins Record

June 6, 2021—With today’s 3-0 win over the Tigers, his 2,764th career win, White Sox manager Tony La Russa moves into the #2 spot on the all-time list for most career wins in major league baseball. “It really wasn’t anything but cheerleading,” La Russa said.

La Russa passes John McGraw who managed the New York Giants from 1902-1932, tallying 2,763 wins as an MLB manager.

First on the list is Connie Mack, a driving force in the early development of major league baseball. Mack managed the Philadelphia Phillies from 1901-1950, with a career win-loss record of 3,582–3,814. He was 87 years old upon his retirement from baseball.
